Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp explained the condition to beat Manchester City in the English Premier League this season, during his statements to Sky Sports.
The two teams have experienced a fierce struggle for the title in recent seasons, and Pep Guardiola’s men have succeeded in winning four titles during the last five seasons, while the Reds won the 2019-2020 title
The German coach criticized, during his statements, the criticism directed against the new Reds striker, “Darwin Nunez”, calling on everyone to be patient with him until he is fully consistent with the team and the atmosphere of the English Premier League.
“Núñez made his first game for Liverpool 5 weeks ago, and according to people outside the team, not us, he didn’t do well, but it’s crazy…the rush to judge people is crazy,” he said.
He continued, “Imagine if someone judged you on your first day at work and told you to go home and never come back, and didn’t give you any second chance, we would all have left without any other chance.”
“Núñez is an excellent striker who has good potential for him and us, he has a different playing style than the players we have, he is mobile, very energetic, strong physically and technically, but with this we can’t ask him to give 100% of his level right now, we have to allow him to develop and improve and that’s what We’re doing it well right now.”
Klopp, speaking to City striker Erling Haaland, also criticized talk of his level so early in the season, saying, “It’s also laughable that when we beat City in the Community Shield, everyone was asking, ‘Will Haaland score this ?'”and that goal
And when Klopp was asked about his struggle with City for the league title, he said, “To beat Manchester City, you must at least win one of the two matches against him during the season.”
It is noteworthy that Liverpool is preparing to face Crystal Palace this evening in the second round of the Premier League, while it had lost two points in the first round with a 2-2 draw with Fulham
